Destin / Miramar Beach Florida
One of the best kept secrets, even to Floridians, is the Emerald Coast. While Destin is a popular location, it doesn't get near the notarity that Panama City, Orlando or Clearwater get, which makes it my favorite beach in Florida. The water is crystal clear and the sand is made of white quartz, which helps give this area a tropical feel. My wife and I are kind of spoiled when it comes to the beach, growing up in Southwest Florida we have grown the love the Gulf of Mexico. Often spending our time in places like Sanibel Island, Captiva, Naples and Clearwater we have certainly developed preferences. The water and sand of the Emerald Coast help us feel right at home.

Geronimo RV Resort
We were a little lucky to stumble upon the Geronimo RV Resort. We were making last minute plans for Spring Break and as you can imagine everything near the beach has been rented out for months. I called Geronimo expecting to hear the same news, but instead I was greeted with some options. We were told that with it obviously being Spring Break that they were full, but if we didn't mind moving our camper a couple times we could work out arrangements to stay for 4 nights. Now ideally you don't want to hook up and take down, but given the situation we found it to be a blessing.
After arriving and checking in we were told that the first night we would be in a pull through and would unhook in the morning and move to our next site where we would stay put the remainder of our trip. They had another cancellation that allowed us to only unhook once. The staff there was very friendly and the grounds were kept immaculate. They helped us back in to the new spot and get situated. The RV resort itself is only 2 blocks from public access to the beach. We took the short walk with the girls everyday to the beach and found it to be extremely convenient. Not only will we stay here again, we are already planning our next trip down. Below you will find a link to the website, site map and directions.
