The Warbonnet Ridge Runner is the first bridge hammock I have ever owned.  I have stayed away from them because of the poles and not wanting to add bulk and weight to my backpack.  This may be the best example of contempt prior to investigation.  The Ridge Runner far exceeded all my expectations, and delivers an extremely comfortable lay.

One of the things to get used to while sleeping in a gathered end style hammock is laying asymmetrically so you can get the hammock to fan out for a flatter sleep.  With the Warbonnet Ridge Runner this isn't necessary.  If you are a person who has tried gathered end hammocks and couldn't get comfortable, then I highly suggest giving a bridge style hammock like the Ridge Runner a shot.
